Confirm the time window

Write down pickup time, drop-off time, location, drive time, and one buffer. Even ten extra minutes can change the tone of the handoff.

Prep the car before you leave

• Water and snacks
• Wipes, napkins, and small trash bag
• Phone charger
• Quiet activity, book, or small toy
• Weather item if needed

Make the first moment easy

Have one low-pressure plan ready after pickup: snack, music, a familiar stop, or a simple ride-home question. The goal is connection before errands.

Check the home base

Before leaving, make sure sleepwear, clothes, toothbrushes, towels, comfort items, and the first meal are ready enough that you are not starting with a scramble.
